Creekbend Club | Fall 2025

Sunrise on an early harvest morning at Creekbend Vineyard

The Creekbend Collection represents the heart of Oliver’s winemaking heritage. These wines showcase estate-grown fruit from our former Creekbend Vineyard in the Indiana Uplands AVA, fruit nurtured on limestone-rich hillsides that produced exceptional character and balance. Each vintage reflects the unique terroir and careful cultivation that defined Creekbend for decades.

While we no longer farm the vineyard today, these wines carry forward its legacy: From the bright, nostalgic sweetness of Catawba to the deep, velvety richness of Chambourcin. The result is a collection that continues to honor the place and people that helped shape Oliver’s story.

Oliver Winery's delicious and tropical Creekbend III 2024
Creekbend III 2024
This blend of Vignoles and Vidal Blanc showcases our growing & winemaking abilities and innovation. The Vignoles portion of this wine is fermented in oak barrels and aged on the lees for several months, while Vidal Blanc is fermented in stainless steel, creating a blend with a bright, tropical nose and buttery, supple finish. This wine adds a touch of class to summer evenings and is ideal for candlelit dinners and slow, unhurried nights in.
Creekbend Blanc de Rouge 2023
Blanc de Rouge is a small-batch sparkling wine that is handmade in the traditional Méthode Champenoise. The wine’s name – translating to “white from red” — pays tribute to the wine’s style. If you’ve been a club member for many years, you know that our Creekbend Catawba is a beautiful blush semi-sweet wine. The crisp, dry palate of this new release will be a pleasant surprise! Catawba is Creekbend Vineyard’s largest planting due to its winter-hardy and disease-resistant characteristics. For this wine, we harvested early to ensure high acidity and the citrus palate common in Champagne wines. Light floral aromas with notes of lemon candy and green apple lead to a vibrant finish with notes of fresh bread and lemon. Sip on a relaxing afternoon or pair with dinner for two. Serve with salmon, charcuterie, salad, ravioli or oysters.
Creekbend Late Harvest Vidal Blanc 2022
Grape varietals used for wine are much sweeter than your average table grapes. The longer they’re on the vine, the sweeter they get. We hand-harvested these Vidal grapes on a crisp, late November morning before the sun was up to bring you this exquisite dessert wine. Tropical flavors delight the palate, with hints of pear and honeysuckle woven throughout. Sip after dinner or with friends around a fire.
Creekbend Chambourcin 2023
This beautifully rich, dry red is crafted with one of our most abundant Creekbend grape varietals. Winter-hardy and rot-resistant, this French-American hybrid is well-suited for our climate with cold winters and wet weather. Minimalist winemaking is needed for this dry-red favorite with rich berry flavor. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, rather than barrels, for a lighter body and subtle tannins. Pairs beautifully with roasted squash, seared steak, and nights when the air turns cool.
Creekbend Chambourcin Rose 2024
Juicy, fresh, and dry, this rosé style wine is a product of free run juice (juice that requires no extra pressure to the grapes) from our Chambourcin grapes and makes a luscious addition to your wine collection. Chambourcin is a very versatile varietal, and is also used in our dry red Chambourcin wine. We recommend sipping it chilled for a jammy summer treat. Lovely with hearty soups, baked brie, and a good book on a gray afternoon.
Creekbend Catawba 2024
A tasting room favorite. Catawba is native to the Indiana climate and known for its soft, fruity flavors including strawberry, peach, and melon. If you’ve ever gotten the chance to eat a Catawba grape, you’ll know that the flavor in the glass comes straight from the vine. This wine is perfect to share with friends at a garden party. Pair with a charcuterie board with light cheeses, fruits, honey, and a hint of spice.

Farewell Creekbend: A Letter from Bill

The Creekbend Vineyard era has come to an end. For over 30 years, it played a vital role in Oliver history, teaching us invaluable lessons about grape growing in the eastern United States. While some varieties didn’t thrive as expected, others flourished, producing exceptional wines. I will always cherish the memories—the challenges and the successes.
