Frosted Cranberry Spritz Is Here for the Season

A Toast to the Season
The season does not arrive all at once. It starts with Friendsgiving where somebody brings a folding chair and table. Then the cookie exchange. The office party. The party your neighbor throws to celebrate the first snow day. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the strange soft week after when nobody knows what day it is, and then the midnight toast. Frosted Cranberry Spritz was made for all of it. Chill it, pour it, pass it around.

Real Fruit, Real Bubbles
Frosted Cranberry Spritz is a collaboration with Ocean Spray®, whose cranberries come from a cooperative of nearly 700 family farmers. We took their real cranberry juice and brought it together with spritzy rosé.

Frosted Cranberry Spritz has aromas of fresh cranberry, strawberry, and cherry on the nose, with a hint of cinnamon and caramel behind it. It drinks bright and crisp, and finishes with just enough holiday warmth to feel like the season. No artificial ingredients, and easy enough to pour that nobody has to ask what it is before they say yes.

How to Drink It (No Rules Apply)
Chill it and pour it. That is genuinely the whole method. But if you want to dress it up:
- Straight from the bottle into a glass, well chilled
- Over ice with a strip of orange peel
- Topped with a splash of sparkling water for a longer pour
- With a rosemary sprig
- With frosted cranberries floating on top (recipe below)
At the table, it works with:
- Holiday charcuterie and Ocean Spray Cranberry Sauce
- Roasted turkey or glazed ham
- Brie with candied walnuts
- Dark chocolate bark with dried fruit

Make It Frosted: Frosted Cranberry Garnish
If you make one thing this season that looks like more effort than it was, make this. Frosted cranberries turn an ordinary drink into something people photograph, and they keep in the fridge so you can make them the day before.
15 minutes prep. 10 minutes on the stove. Makes about 12 ounces.
What you need
- 1 cup Frosted Cranberry Spritz
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 12 oz fresh Ocean Spray® fresh cranberries
How to make it
- Pour the wine into a saucepan over medium heat and simmer until it reduces by about half. Let it cool.
- Put the sugar in a large bowl and set it aside.
- Toss the cranberries in the cooled reduction until they are coated, strain them, and spread them on wax paper to dry for about five minutes.
- Roll the cranberries in the sugar until coated. Serve right away, or store in an airtight container in the fridge and use them as garnish later.
Tips and Tricks
- Surface area is what speeds up the reduction. A wide sauté pan will get there faster than a small pot.
- If the wine is not clinging to the berries the way you want, reduce it further, or dissolve another quarter to a third of a cup of sugar into it to thicken it up.
